Q) What kind of support do I get on road?
  • We will divide the total participants into 3 groups after analysing their average speeds in their Strava cycling profiles.
  • Each group will be tailed by its individual TOA support truck. The TOA truck will ride behind the last rider of the group.
  • Each TOA truck will have one technician, refreshments, spares, first aid etc.
  • There could be a gap of 10-15 Kms between the first rider of a group and its last rider. The TOA truck will ride behind the last rider of the group.
  • It is expected that the biker knows basic repairs such as fixing a flat tyre, chain slip, brake issues etc. However, still if a rider lags behind due to some reason e.g. puncture, cramps etc, the support truck will help such rider in whatever way it can and help the rider in reaching the group. This is called temporary sweeping and drop off.

Note:

  • There might be delays if there are multiple breakdowns/ mechanical failures at the same time.
  • The vehicle & support that arrives will sweep you. The mechanic/ volunteer onboard will not work on your bicycle & try to fix it in the middle of the ride.
  • There will be 2-3 support station (SS) points on the day?s route. Your group?s TOA truck will halt there and the group can take a break together at such SS points.
  • A minimum of one bike/scooter will be patrolling between support stations. [Patrol timings will be provided during briefing]. Hence totally 2-3 bikes/scooters will be on the route.
  • Ambulance, medical staff & physio experts will be available on support through each day of the tour.
Q) What is Sweeping?

If a rider can?t complete the ride for any reason they will be taken in the sweep vehicle. We call this sweeping. The sweep truck will begin sweeping at sundown or at the discretion of the ToA organising team. Please note that this is for the safety of each rider on the tour and we request you to cooperate with the sweep truck in case you are asked to stop.

A sweep can occur at other times than only at sundown (varied reasons like fitness issues, on medical advice etc). Kindly cooperate.

Q) Can I ride after sun down?

No. In the evening after riding the whole day, you would be adamant to finish the race on your own terms but if the sweep truck reaches you before that; please cooperate with the sweep truck and allow them to get you on-board the truck. We hope that we never have to sweep anyone but safety comes first.

Please ensure a quick pick up in case it happens since there would be riders in front as well who might need assistance or need to be swept.

Q) What if a rider lags back?

Each support station will have a cut off time (with enough of a time gap provided). If a rider can?t reach the station before cut off time, he will be swept (cut off time shall be provided each day at the briefing)
